Celestine Cooley is a published poet, producer, and writer from Los Angeles. She worked in the entertainment industry for nearly 50 years. Thoughout those years she wore many hats - as an executive assistant to studio heads, producers, and directors in film, tv, video, and cable. As a travel agent, talent & literary agent, golf instructor, story editor, writer, and producer. But her biggest achievement was being "Mom" and raising her only daughter, Alexis, who is a kind, beautiful, talented, thoughful, compassionate, funny, and intelligent adult.
Celestine's decades old dream was to live in France someday -- but life got in the way. In late 2023 and near retirement, she felt it was time to make that dream come true. So she packed her bags, grabbed her Chihuahua, and flew off to France on a scouting trip by train in search of a city to call home. This was just the beginning of her new life journey.
During that trip, she posted on social media about her French adventures in the cities she visited. After returning home, she soon retired from her illustrious fifty-year entertainment industry career and moved abruply to France in early 2024 with her 10-year old Chihuahua, Colonel. Those Facebook posts from that scouting trip turned into her first book, Six French Cities, which she wrote and then self-published in January 2026.
Currently, Celestine is writing, A Boomer in Bordeaux, her second book in this French adventure series. This one is about her immigrant experiences of relocating, adapting, and living her first year in France. She is also producing and hosting a podcast, Starting Over Later, on YouTube. As well as continuing to post on Social Media about her life in France and various other topics in her Blog, Rewriting Wednesdays Child.
In her spare time, Celestine enjoys taking long walks with Colonel, exploring medieval cities, attending local events, spending time with new friends, reading a good mystery novel, and relaxing with a glass of wine in Bordeaux.
